Can be very crowded during peak season. 0000000876 00000 n
The trail itself is much more moderate than easy. Great trail. 0000009256 00000 n
The views were great and not that many people were on the trail. 0000005661 00000 n

Directions from Aspen: Drive 6 miles west of Aspen on Highway 82 and turn left onto Brush Creek Road. © 2020 AllTrails, Inc. Tous droits réservés. Carried 1.5 liters water and 25oz reserve that 20 somethings needed. The trail literally goes through the middle of it. This small but shapely lake sits at treeline .95 miles and 503' below the pass, and 4.8 miles from the Copper Trailhead in Gothic where thru-hikers can arrange pick up. Take the left fork. Take the left fork. 0000019869 00000 n

I will start by saying the trail map and coordinates are NOT for this trail. 0000000016 00000 n
The road descends steeply to the valley bottom where it forks. Not overcrowded and courteous folks on trail. However, we were very grateful to have done this loop and NOT Four Pass during such a busy week in the summer (peak wildflower season). Much less trafficked than Four Pass Loop so a great alternative to have a more secluded wilderness experience. Coming back down east Snowmass was tough. Good protection from winds by the small one trees. You will pass the East Snowmass trailhead on the left. Willow Pass, Buckskin Pass and Snowmass Lake are world-class beautiful. This was a great end of summer backpacking trip. *A, wpq

The first mile climbs steadily up the mountain through various switchbacks. We only camped one night and did the rest on the second day. With that said, the Snowmass trail is a great hike that is an out and back or two day loop hike. A lot of downhill and blow downs. There are great descriptions about what the actual trail looks like in the comments below. xb```g``eb`e`hgd@ A(GSr,e( :%@%XHO\${2BtJ q104i& bN> D_nc` We camped there. 0000001681 00000 n

Long, hard backpacking trip with very rewarding views. Take bear canister and ursack. Route - East Slopes Standard Route . Colorado Tourism Office, 1625 Broadway, Suite 1700 , Denver, CO, 80202, Phone: 800-COLORADO. Wild flowers were beautiful and there is a massive avalanche debris field at mile 2 that is larger than any I have ever seen. This long but moderate trail follows East Maroon Creek to its origin just below the pass, and continues down the west side into Copper Basin and on to Gothic near Crested Butte. Copper Lake Loop - 23.35 Miles Round-Trip Copper Lake (11,321') is located 10.65 miles from East Maroon Creek Trailhead on the Crested Butte side of East Maroon Pass (11,824').
